Oracle DBA

Manchester | £400-450 per day - 6 months

Oracle DBA Required to work within the Infrastructure Team, your primary responsibilities will be to support a major programme of change being undertaken within this Manchester based organisation. Additional responsibilities involve business as usual technical support on our Mission Critical systems.
This requires a strong knowledge of deploying, securing, documenting and administering Oracle server software and related products.

As the Oracle DBA, you will work with strict adherence to design and change control processes, you will act as a subject matter expert for Oracle databases. This includes Oracle fault diagnosis and deep dive performance tuning to ensure services are running securely, reliably and efficiently.

As the Oracle DBA, you will work with other members of the Wintel Team, as well as the Unix, DBA (SQL & Oracle), Storage and Backup, and offshore teams. Also liaising with the Network team to achieve joint goals.

You will ideally have experience of:

Certified Oracle DBA
Excellent understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools.
Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
Excellent understandingof Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.
Excellentknowledge in Oracle security management.
Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle.

If you have any experience of UNIX, SOLARIS or AIX then this would be a bonus but is not essential.
