Head of Architecture – Hybrid – Permanent – North West.

Head of Architecture required to join a continually growing business that is increasing both via revenue and M&A activity and has significant growth planned in terms of existing and new product lines.

As the Head of Architecture, you will create a strategic technical vision for the SAAS platform, creating a roadmap for the evolution of the platform's architecture, defining the right architectural patterns, establishing best practices, and creating guidelines for developers to follow.

As Head of Architecture, you will make critical decisions about which AWS services to use and how to configure them to deliver optimal performance. Ensuring scalability to accommodate growth and maintaining resilience. As the platform evolves, you will assess new AWS services and make strategic decisions about their implementation.

As the Head of Architecture, you will align the technology with business needs, explore and implement emerging technology trends and best practice to help with the evolution of the platform.

You will be responsible for making key decisions about the platform's security policies and practices, implementing secure coding practices and selecting the right security technologies. Alongside this you will evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors, service providers, and consultants.

As Head of Architecture, you will look to build your own architecture team.

To be successful in this role you will need as much of the following as possible:
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS Cloud services.
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Expertise in serverless architectures and a serverless-first approach.
  • Good understanding of SAAS platform design, development, and management.
  • Experience with leading and managing technical teams.
  • Delivering customer facing solutions across mobile / web / ecommerce platforms.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to a range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of performance monitoring and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Implementing security best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficient in vendor management.
