Greater Manchester, | £55,000.00 - 75,000.00 Per Annum (Plus Remote working and Benefits)

Data Product Owner required for a growing Fintech SaaS business, based in Manchester, paying up to £75,000 + Benefits

*This is a remote role, with only occasional trips to the office during the year

This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone with a strong background in Data Business Analysis who wants to take greater ownership of how data is used to drive product development, improve customer experiences and create genuine commercial value.

The business sits on a wealth of valuable data, spanning customer activity, transactions, financial information and third-party integrations. The opportunity is to better understand that data, identify what can be done with it and turn those ideas into meaningful, real-world products and improvements.

This role is about understanding data, recognising opportunities and working with Product and Engineering teams to make things happen.

What you'll be doing:

Understanding the existing data landscape, including how data is captured, structured, stored, integrated and used.
Identifying opportunities to turn complex datasets into meaningful insights, improved functionality and potentially new commercial products.
Taking ownership of data-focused initiatives from initial discovery and requirements through to delivery.
Working closely with stakeholders, Product and Engineering teams to translate business problems and opportunities into practical solutions.
Improving existing data processes, reporting, provisioning, governance and data management.
Exploring how emerging technologies, including AI and LLMs, can be used to unlock further value from existing data.
Helping shape the future direction of data-driven products and capabilities.

What we're looking for:

A strong background in Data Business Analysis, Data Product Ownership or a similar data-focused role.
Good technical understanding of data, including data structures, mapping, integrations, quality and how different datasets interact.
Experience working with technical teams to take data-related requirements or opportunities through to delivered solutions - driving ROI and/or customer improvements & future opportunities
The ability to look beyond individual requirements, challenge assumptions and identify how data could be used more effectively.
Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
An understanding of how AI and emerging technologies are changing the way businesses access and utilise data would be beneficial - this is could be a huge opportunity too

You'll need to be comfortable getting into the technical detail, although you won't be expected to be a Data Engineer or Data Scientist.

Perhaps most importantly, we're looking for someone who can see the bigger picture.

This role would suit someone who doesn't just understand what the data says, but can recognise what it could be used for and has the drive to turn that thinking into something tangible - and we'll be looking for experience and examples of where you've done this before.

There is already an established Product and Engineering function, including specialist AI expertise, so you'll have the technical support to bring ideas to life.
