Head of Portfolio - Manchester based - Hybrid working - £85k to 95k - 20% bonus, 6k car and excellent benefits.

We are currently helping our client in looking for a Head of Portfolio to manage the delivery of a portfolio of programmes containing business led technology work as well as regulatory driven projects and changes.

As Head of Portfolio delivery, you will be responsible for planning, leading and executing the portfolio of projects ensuring it reflects business priorities, is aligned with company strategy and delivers anticipated benefit.

The portfolio contains initially three large programme’s of work focussed around core systems changes, cloud & data technology and BAU regulatory work, with a total value range between 40- 50million, expecting to run over the next three years.

As Head of Portfolio, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the portfolio through the programme/project managers and wider technology teams, ensuring projects are well managed, adhere to governance and are crucially delivered with quality, on time and within budget.

As Head of Portfolio you will be responsible for budgetary, performance and benefit realisation reporting of all initiatives & BAU deliveries, owning the rolling demand plan, annual delivery plan and any other associated investments; plan covers all new and enhanced capabilities, processes, functionality, services and applications.

As Head of Portfolio, you will work with senior stakeholders to understand changes to business strategy and priority, enabling an agile IT response. Key to this will be building strong, proactive, productive stakeholder relationships and deliver consistent communication with clarity.

Leadership in this role is a given but also the ability and experience to help build a collaborative dynamic culture that delivers for the customer and its people, creating high performing teams.

To be successful in this role you will need as much of the following:

• Strong and successful portfolio management or high value programme management experience within an IT context.
• Managing different but interconnected programmes.
• Delivering via direct resources and matrix resources.
• Successful management of 3rd party vendors.
• Successful leadership and people management experience.
• Experience in building a developing a delivery team.
• Significant stakeholder engagement and management skills.
• Experience of working in a Cloud Environment (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
